The after-effects of the Final Battle are despair - especially when the magic disappears.

Appologies accepted.T he most import thing is you're back at all. I'm so very glad about the update - thanks a lot!
What does Severus have in mind?
And Moody is truely out of his mind, to betray them, the Magic itself, like that!
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Thank you for reading and reviewing!
Hm... what does Severus have in mind, good question. *grin*
You've actually hit the truth with regard to Moody very close.
Wow, impressive. When I get a bit of time I'll re-read just for the pleasure of it......
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying it! :-)
I've just read this right through, and wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it.Brilliant storyline, and the characterisations are so appropriate !I hope Real Life allows you time and space to continue writing :-)
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
I'm glad you're enjoying it! :-) Thank you for reviewing!
It was a lovely surprise to have this to read with my coffee this morning. Thanks for the update - hope the next one won't be so long :)
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
I'm so glad you're still reading! Promise the next chapter won't be long, I'm already writing it. :-)
Thanks for a lovely review!
I am so happy to see that you are back, this story is just to great to be abanded!!! As usual well written. I loved that they were able to see Hogwarths now and that Dobby and the other elves were still there. I adore your Hermione and Severus, and several other caracters. I hope Moody will meet a very hurtful end, not sure who should have the honour of taking him down, but I sure do look forward for it!! Update again soon!!!
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Aw, thank you!
I'm sure Moody will learn his lesson, one way or another, LOL.
love it !! you rock
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Thank you, my love. As do you, but you know that already! *blows kiss*
very happy to see this updated--been a while. Yay! Severus and Hermione "found" Hogwarts. Moody needs to be punished and stopped. To jeopardize the entire WW just to apprehend one man--what a hypocrite.
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
I'm so glad you're still reading!
Let's say, Moody is human. Humans make mistakes. It was a bad mistake, though, wasn't it, lol. But he might just come to his senses sooner or later. :-)
Thanks for a lovely review!
I was so happy to see that you updated this! Moody has gone to the other side - wow! I wasn't sure what he would do, but that he's now actively working with the anti-magic side ... goodness! Lovely interactions between our favorite couple. And to top it off, an evil cliffie. I'm terribly curious as to what happened to Ginny and Millicent when they were kidnapped. I'll be anxiously awaiting your next update!
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Thank you! *looks fondly at the stars*
I see Moody as very human. And humans are known to make mistakes *sheepish_grin*. The positive side is that we can learn from making mistakes. Whether Moody will or not... well, I'll answer that before the end of the story, LOL.
Woohoo! I was beginning to be afraid you'd abandoned this! I'm so glad you haven't! Close call there. I can see Moody getting swayed to the "suppress magic" side, considering some of the things that have been done to him with magic. No magic, no Dark Arts, right? And you'd best live up to that author's note, leaving things on a cliffie like that!
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Abandoning it has never crossed my mind! I got side-tracked a few times with contributions for PR and the SSHG Exchange, but the main reason that it's taken so long is that it's a very complex plot. The romance is more of a side-effect than the main focus, and sometimes, it's hard (or at least I find it hard) to find the right words to show spiritual growth and especially what kind of magic happens behind the scenes, in the unseen realm in the so-called non-magical world. But as I'm only side-tracked by the next Exchange, which is already partly written, the next chapter will definitely come much sooner, lol.
Thanks for reviewing! :-)

Lovely to seen an update! It's been a while, hasn't it! More SSHG action! More story in general! I hope this means you'll be updating quicker? Cuz I'm itchy and anticipaty!

This is one of the better stories I've read in a very long time. It's well thought out, evenly paced, has a great combination of angst, drama, romance, and some mystery and humour that lends levity and intrigue. Wonderful work!
Please keep it up and update soon! I can't wait to see what else is in store, how the magical community will rise from the proverbial ashes and thrive once again!
And please, give Ron a SERIOUS kick in the head. He needs it.
KUDOS!
Author's Response:
Wow. Thank you!
I'm working on it, I'd love to have it complete before the final book comes out.
Yes, Ron is a bit of trouble there, isn't he, LOL.
jracklesfan77's response: You're welcome, hon! I don't review often, and rarely in detail, but I do my best to give credit where credit is due (when I feel it's justified) and you were definitely deserving of such praise :D
Best of luck with the deadline issue, and though I'm sure you have plenty of people to turn to - ppl you KNOW and trust, if you need someone to bounce ideas off of or just to rant to...feel free to contact me. I don't write for HP fandom, but I read enough of it :P
Have a great weekend!

I've just discovered this story this morning... have you ever read "The Celestine Prophecy" or "The Secret"? If not I suspect you'll enjoy them. Anyhow, this is brilliant! I love the correct application of metaphysical concepts with magic here. Can't wait to read more!
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
I read The Celestine Prophecy years ago when it came out and enjoyed it. I've not read The Secret, but as I'm always looking for recommendations, thank you, and I'll look for it next time I go to the bookstore.
Your review made my day, not only because it was so wonderfully positive but also because of your perception of metaphysical concepts. Since I started writing Without Magic, it has never ceased to amaze me how, despite the obvious mass-awakening of people, the majority take it as a sci-fi version of a HP fanfic.
I'm working on the next chapter and won't stop until it's done, now that other activities are out of the way for a few days. :-)
Oh, I'm glad I found you here. I really enjoy this story.
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
I'm glad you're enjoying it! Thank you for reading and reviewing!
I am so in love with this story, the concept is brilliant and everytime I get to an update I don't want the chapter to end. I can sit and read all 10 chapters over again and still find it riviting.
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
You know what? I'm in love with the most wonderful, heartwarming review you left. :-) It is reviews like yours that make me want to write faster and more.
Wow. I'm berating myself for generally skipping PG-rated stories (naughty me), because this one has really grabbed me with its original -- and scary -- premise and good writing. Happily continuing on now...
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
I'm not late in answering reviews or anything... sorry about that!
I used to skip such low-rated stories, too, so worry not, you're not the only one. I'm glad you like it!
Thanks for reading and reviewing. :-)
I am so happy to see a new chapter to your wonderful story, now I will start looking forward to the next one:-)
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Thank you! The next chapter is about half written, so it won't be long. :-) I'm so glad you like the story!
Another interesting chapter.
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
I'm glad you think so!
So Severus knows that Hermione has feelings for him, but Hermione doesn't know that Severus has feelings for her. I wonder if her time at the pub will reveal anything to her? Poor Hermione - realizing how she felt for Severus must've been exactly like lightning striking - sudden and overwhelming. It was a good way of describing it. Good job! You had to, of course, leave it there. You're a very evil author for doing so - and I think I'll get my pitchfork and friends -
We'll gather around your house and demand updates. Oh yes, I have it all planned out. Basically, what I'm saying is please update soon! This story is amazing, and I need more!!
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
You made my day with this review, ya know? :-)
Erm, yes, sorry for being an evil author *cackles_madly*. I'm having little computer time at the moment, which means I'm writing a lot, and chapter XI is already well under way. Another few days, and it'll be done. :-)
I like the story Good Chapter
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Thank you! I'm glad you like it.
I like it. I always wondered on the possibilities of 'what if' concerning lack of magic. I have no clue who Reich is and I avoid Freud, but you've kept my attention. Nice use of secondary characters (Parvati and Kingsley). Who'da thunk it! Can't wait to read more.
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Thank you! It means a lot to me that I'm able to keep someone's attention in a story I created. :-)
I don't think highly of Freud, or rather his opinions. I've found that Reich has a much more realistic grasp on the subject, but that's probably the reason he continued on in his studies rather than being side-tracked by sex, LOL.
I am very curious about William! Things seems to getting along quite well at the moment, mabye a bit too easy! I think they better take Moody's warning to heart - constant vigilance! Good chapter!
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Oh, worry not, there's plenty of trouble ahead. ;-)
Thank you for reading and reviewing!
How could muggle do such a thing? Disabling the towers is a great idea, but what's to prevent those high official muggles from finding another way to do the same thing? Or altering the technology just so that nobody can recognize it for what it is? I'm so glad Draco and Kingsley are feeling better. Parvati is doing a wonderful job. So what's Kingsley and Parvati's relationship? Just friends? I can't really tell. They're definitely close, however. I'm glad Severus was more 'himself' after awhile. Interesting that Hermione's mastochistic. Although I think maybe she wanted Severus to tease her so she'd know he was feeling, well, more himself. I can't wait to read the Draco/Hermione interaction in the next chapter, and I heartily hope that there'll be some SS/HG interaction as well in the next chapter. Wonderful job, I hope you update again very soon!
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
The Muggles have devious types amongst them, too, not only the wizards do.
Kingsley's and Parvati's relationship will unfold further in coming chapters, I have no doubt. :-)
I promise there'll be lots of SS/HG interaction in the near future. It's likely to at least start in the next one.
Thanks for such a thoughtful review!
Now this is a very unique idea... I absolutely love the premise that Muggle technology can affect magic. It puts Muggles on the same footing as wizards - a different species perhaps, but not inferior. So many times the Muggles are seen as inferior, but in truth, wizards should not underestimate them. Well done!
Response from karelia (Author of Without Magic)
Muggle technology can do lots of things, I'd say. :-)
Thanks for a wonderful review.
But you still want the magic to come back, right? LOL
Response from notsosaintly (Reviewer)
Well ... YES!! I want the magic to sweep back into their lives, and I want Severus to sweep Hermione off her feet (and into his arms and into his heart and into his ... *snicker*).
I read this chapter the day it was posted but forgot to review. I Love this story, Red Cloud in particular. As always I look forward to more.
Hi,I really like your fic... Especially this chapter. Like the teasing, blushing and friendly surroundings.Would really like to read more about the subject Hermione is studying. Could be very interesting, eh? Carmille
