Hermione and Severus celebrate their first Christmas as husband and wife, and Hermione's parents come for a visit. No angst here. This is unabashedly sweet and fluffy, just as a Christmas story should be. You may need to brush your teeth after reading this one!

I am in my late 50's and I didn't even start reading Harry Potter until after the third book came out. My granddaughter got me 'hooked on Potter,' and while surfing the net one day, I found a fanfiction site. That was it! My first story, "Renaissance," was published on Ashwinder a month later and I've been writing ever since. I am primarily a HG/SS shipper, but I also enjoy reading and writing RL/SS. I live in Tampa, Florida with my wonderfully adoring and supportive husband, and three completely spoiled cats. (Kallie, Mysha, and Smudge {who was the inspiration for the cat that Severus gives Hermione in my story "Renaissance."}) I'm always happy to correspond with my readers and I answer ALL reviews. I'm always looking for plot-bunnies, so feel free to throw some ideas out.

very good epilogue XD (i ocnsider this the epilogue XD rather thatn the last chapter XD) Beautiful story ^^ I think I´ve gotten a little bit of a crush? on your stories XD
Such a perfectly lovely story!!!
Awwwwwww, how sweet! And I think Portia is the perfect name for the Snape daughter. After all, she's bound to be a clever little thing with such intelligent parents...
Aww, just sweet. I hadn't read the original story when this was first posted, but I caught that one on Ashwinder over Christmas break. So I'm glad to catch up on this one too.

I did warn about excess fluff ... I'm glad you enjoyed in spite of its marshmallowy stickiness. Thanks for reading and reviewing. And a happy, healthy, and (hopefully) prosperous New Year to you and yours, as well.
I love it! Tidings of Comfort and Joy has become a Christmas Tradition of my own. I have read it every year since I found it and admittedly inbetween, as well. It is wonderful to see that Severus are doing well and happy.

Perfect fluff and a classic holiday dilemma -- how to honor your parents' traditions while creating your own. Thanks for letting us look in on this corner of the world again!

I loved so much the original story so I'm very glad to have news of this particular couple. There should be more challenge like this one to not forget beloved fiction like yours.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy: Yule 2008 Edition)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I never intended to write a sequel to my original story, but couldn't resist when this challenge was announced.Thank you for reading and for taking the time to leave a review ... and the stars!Happy holidays to you!

Awww!!! Tidings Of Comfort and Joy is one of my all time favorite SS/HG stories EVER, and I am thrilled beyond words that there is a sequel/epilogue! And such a lovely one! Thank you, thank you!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy: Yule 2008 Edition)
Although a writed should 'love' all her (or his!) stories, this one is a particular favourite of mine. I'm so happy to learn it's one of your favourites as well.I never intended to write a sequel, and this is really more of a snapshot than a sequel, but when the Yule Challenge was announced, I couldn't resist the opportunity to create one more Christmas for Severus and Hermione.I'm so glad you enjoyed it.I thank you for reading and reviewing ... and for all the lovely 'Christmas' stars!Happy Holidays!
Portia? Excellent baby name! And the stocking tradition...ohh, so cute! This is so wonderfully fluffy :) Merry Christmas!!!!
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy: Yule 2008 Edition)
Intentionally fluffy ... lol.I couldn't resist the Shakespearean name for their little girl, and I still remember the opening of Portia's speech about the quality of mercy ... it just seemed very appropriate for Severus's child.Thank you for reading and reviewing.Happy Holidays!
What a perfect Christmas Eve, hope yours is as wonderful as your story.
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy: Yule 2008 Edition)
Yes, their Christmas Eve was perfect. Mine is very quiet ... just hubby and I, as we don't have any family at all living nearby. But we are each other's best friend and are enjoying the evening nonetheless (although hubby has gone to bed now, and I'm taking the opportunity to catch up with answering reviews ...something I've neglected terribly!)I'm glad you enjoyed my little story. Thanks for reading and reviewing and for leaving all the lovely Christmas stars!Happy Holidays!
Thank you for this delightful Yule Edition. I am embarrassed to admit it, but I haven't read Tidings of Comfort and Joy yet. I will correct this character flaw of mine just as soon as I post this review!I adore that Severus and Hermione's parents have such a good relationship. It's nice to see Severus not so grumpy... in fact he is solicitous of them! My favorite part is that Severus and Hermione are going to be parents. Woohoo! One of my daughters best friends from college is named Portia... they have always called her Shay. I think it is such a lovely name.My second favorite part is that Severus and Hermione establish their own family tradition of the green stockings on Christmas Eve, and their own red ones on Christmas Day. Thank you again! Beth
Response from StormySkize (Author of Tidings of Comfort and Joy: Yule 2008 Edition)
I hope you'll enjoy the original story. It is a Christmas story, sort of, as it begins a few days before Christmas one year, and concludes on Christmas Eve the following year. A lot happens in-between, however. Please let me know what you think of it!I'm glad you liked this little story, however. The red woollen stocking is actually an element from the original story that I carried over.I've always been fond of the name Portia and was glad to be able to work it into a story in a believable way. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing and for leaving me all the Christmas stars!Happy Holidays!
So loverly....Happy Holidays

Squeeeee!!Santa has been very, very good to me this year! Tidings of Comfort and Joy was one of my very favorite SSHG Holiday stories from my first reading of it.
