For the record, I hate these things. You're supposed to be witty and intriguing enough to draw in your fellow authors/readers/literary addicts, so they will desire to learn more. I'm afraid my witticism account has been depleted as of late. Perhaps it may be that there is a strong positive correlation between it and my banking account. It seems good humor is often tied to good finance. Footnotes of my life read as follows: I'm college educated several times over, thus I have no money (student loans, you see). Do we see my humor wavering? I've a background in business, music, cats, martial arts, horses, writing... never mind. Were I to hit only the highlights, I'd still have too much to write. Jack of all trades, Master of none. Or would that be 'Jane'? Though initially drug kicking and proverbially screaming (not the kicking - that was quite literal), my dear friend Pamela introduced me to the world of Harry Potter, and since then I've become a marrow-infested fanatic (read: bone-deep). Did I mention I've a dry sense of humor? Such as it is, it goes well with my love of LOTR. I'm a patron of the adventurous arts. If you've really a further interest in my most eclectic yet ever-so-humble life, e-mail me at sonofarathorn@bigfoot.com . Otherwise, I'll bore you no more. Without further adieu (or ado)- On with the show...
Reviews for The Voice of All the Gods
Loved the background and further insight into the Black brothers' family, especially their scum of a father; also the brutal but honest dialogue between the brothers, at least on Sirius' part, which I feel took a lot for him to do.
Regulus' denial and confusion is painful; one can feel the accumulation of his stress and containment growing, about to explode.
As a huge Lupin fangirl, I adored the scene between Hestia and Lupin *sigh* I know this is a RB/HB ship but... really lovely scene!
I wonder how much longer Regulus can juggle his feelings, and how much longer Hestia can not be affected by his actions--great chapter, as always, lovely work!
So many lines are being crossed, and Regulus and Hestia are becoming intertwined in more ways than they know--and it doesn't help that Sirius has taken it upon himself to shove Regulus into a situation neither he, even under guise and approval of mum's plotting, nor Hestia may be ready to experience... Great Chapter!
Must read on quickly to see what and how far this brooding Black has planned for her and his intentions upon her--great chapter! Reading on!
Love the almost ominous glimpses into Regulus' thoughts and feelings, intensifying his deperation and needs... Thoroughly enjoyed severus and Hestia's exchange, as well as Sirius' with her. But the sly Lystra switch and a caught Regulus was a wonderful twist! Each chapter is tightening the tension between these two--yum! Great chapter!
Brilliant twists of events--loved Hestia turning it around on him, not being afraid of him, and him tasting her feistiness and strength of character--bravo, Tia! Now to the Maurauders... *sighing* I have a feeling Sirius is not going to let Pete's news be used for nothing--it's too juicy and too much potential amunition to not truly torture his brother with--poor Regulus! Poor Hestia! Lovely writing and great chapter!
So... Regulus, in his pressured frustration, along with his misreading of Hestia's actions and affections, seems to be giving over to his darker instincts... Love the contrasts of the different points of view--truly wonderful layering on of narrative and plot!
Mmmn, the tension is thickening, and yes, Regulus, Tia is pissed off! I have a feeling Regulus is about to get a taste of his own medicine from Ms Jones Great Chapter!

Tia's definitely got a temper and knows her own mind
Yes, Regulus has got his hands full, that's for sure! And more to come...
Thank you for the review!!
Wonderful characterisation and bringing a rare character to life--love Hestia's Ravenclaw know-how--and yes, she's only human--those tall dark Slytherins are difficult to *resist* I love the potential set-up of Sirius egging on and interfering with relationships. And there is a sadness, futility, and frustration going on with Regulus--poor Hestia, little does she know that Regulus perceives her as being 'in on it', siding with his brother to help make his life miserable... Great chapter!

Thank you for such a lovely review! Regulus is very untrusting, and really, with good reason. He's met his match, however, with Tia. She's very clever, but she's also very honest and endearing, and he won't know what to do with that.
And Sirius... well, he is of course the popular ladies' man and all-around class clown with loads of talent, but he's hiding so much pain beneath it all, resentment for his family, and a sad regret over his little brother's choices with reference to that very same family.
I am so glad you updated this story! I had to go back and catch myself up on it, and found it as fresh as when I first began reading. The back and forth in this episode is nicely balanced, with both of them being thrown off their game. I can't help but feel sorry for Tia, as she does not know she's being played, but as the ending proved, it may be a harder game than Regulus expects.

Thank you so much for staying with the story. I know I need to go back and re-read quite a bit of it to get back into the mode for writing. This - along with a few more chapters - was already written before I went on my scripting-hiatus. I am just now getting them prepped to post, so I hope that they will be worth your waiting.
They really are both thrown off their game, and you'll see that trend continue in places as we go along.
Thanks again for staying with me, and for the lovely review!
Oooh! A Regulus Black & Hestia Jones pairing--this is my lucky night! So beautifully, richly written--am looking forward to catching up on this gem!Love the insight into his world and perception of it and those around him--Regulus is one of those so little, and yet so profound, written about characters--look forward to discovering more of what older brother Sirius has planned as well as how Regulus deals with it and others--so lovely a portrayal of Hestia--maybe she is someone who Regulus can let his shields down around... Looking forward to more!

Heh heh heh... Well, I do hope it lives up to your feeling of luckiness
I always felt Regulus could have been fleshed out more in HP canon, but as he was not, I took it upon myself... lol
I love the interaction possibilities that lie between the brothers, the depth that lies heavily beneath the turbulent surface.
Thank you for the review!
