Hermione is forced to lead a double life when she agrees to Dumbledore's plan to protect Professor Snape. Inspired by the Marriage Law. Warning for student/teacher relationship, though Hermione is of age.

Well, this is a prettty pickle isn't it? Snape, charming as always. May God have mercy on Hermione's mental stability!Interesting slant on the MLC. I like stories that can meld its way into canon.Livvy

There are so many things I like about this chapter. Okay there we go...1) The writing is fantastic- great pace and just enough details to really embark into the story you have created.2) The plot is delectable- I love that it is DH compliant but at the same time gives us Snape's POV.3) The characterization is great- I like how you have portrayed Hermione in this Fanfic! She can show empathy without being a complete wimp (though I was surprised she didn't ask more questions :) Your Snape is snarky to perfection...love it!4) The dialogue is fabulous!- the repartees between the four of them was so well done! Please update soon!

Brava, m'dear. Brava. I have spent ~counts~ 7+ hours reading this fic, and it has been a positively joyful experience. I am in complete awe of your Snape (possibly my favorite that I've ever read) and of your Hermione - her determination, her pluck, her everything. Their relationship unfolded perfectly, and their realizations and insecurities were described in perfect detail. And the secondary characters - oh! That Kingsley knew what he was doing. Arthur. Mad-Eye. Harry, oh, so much love for Harry! And Luna! This is a gem of a story, a total gem, and this is a reading experience that will not soon be forgotten. Thank you for giving the fandom such a work of art. ~squishes you~ Thank you.

It's been wonderful to wake up this morning and rexperience Second Life with you through your beautiful reviews. Thank you so much, Lady Rhian! *squishes right back* I'm really thrilled that you liked it.
I literally LOL'd at Minerva's line about spectacle-making. And Severus... oh, the poor man. And I haven't yet commented - I love how you write Hermione. She's single minded, determined, devoted. ~sigh~ I am hoping for a happier outcome than that dratted epilogue... ;)
God bless Mr Weasley. And I think that's all I have to say about that. ~squishes him~
~aches~ Such a well written scene. And oh, at the last there - oh, Severus. ~wants to hug him~ So broken and bruised. And the image of Harry and Ron holding her back - very powerful. And I love that they're sort of (ish?) coming around...
It was the only goodbye he knew how to give her. -- this has nearly brought me to tears, woman. ~wipes at eyes~
~wants to cry~ ~wants to kiss Dumbledore, for some reason~ ~adores Luna~ ~feels proud of Harry~ I will say it again: marvelous story. I apologize for these inchoate, incoherent reviews... but the story has reduced me to a quibbling puddle of joy!
Love. This is all love. How Snape learned of the hallows, Minerva, Dobby, Luna - you nailed her voice! - what Ollivander told him... and how interesting, that he is afraid to die. I am most looking forward to this conversation with Dumbledore.
That exchange between Minerva and Snape was spot-on. And Harry and her discussion - oh. ~heart swells~ I love Harry. And Hermione. And, yes, Ron, too. And especially Snape... you are crafting an utterly stunning counterpart to DH, m'dear.
This chapter was stunning. No way around it. And they love each other! They really love each other! ~happy sigh~
Bravo, Hermione! And ~raises hand~ that makes three of us who want to kill Dumbledore... again. I do love your Black portrait - he's got a lot of pluck, doesn't he? I am positively in awe of the way you are constructing this story within the canon. I cannot imagine the amount of time you must have spent planning and weaving this beautiful tapestry.
Yet another perfect chapter. I am sorry, but you've quite moved me beyond words. Snape here at the last scene is perfect. "He had turned her into himself" - oh, the self-recrimination latent in those words!
Lush. Just... lush. The emotional landscape of this chapter is just... no words.
Oh that's right! ~facepalm~ Oh, this next conversation should be very interesting. And that scene with the DE ball and the reference to Voldemort on the throne? Priceless.
Another brilliant chapter, and a great conversation that Hermione had with the boys there. Also, I was going to tell you how much I enjoyed - in the last chapter - how Hermione pushed Severus away. Not that I enjoyed it, per se, but that she recognizes the danger of their association - the Romeo & Juliet allusion earlier was definitely well chosen! All this to say: loving it.
Indeed she does, Snape! Figured that out, have you? :-) And Lariope dear, this chapter just about shattered me.
The depth of their care for each other is so evident. I wonder if a talk with Dumbledore on the inappropriateness of affection is coming up? Oh, and how Hermione searched for pain - oh goodness. So much is said with so little.
Oh, that at the end there. ~sighs~ Beautiful. This is just a breathtaking story.
Your description of Occlumency was fascinating, and I love the idea of a lake/sky instead of a door - something that can't be broken, indeed. But the image of Snape plunging into the depths - her depths - seeking out those memories, oh, a heady thing indeed! And now Hermione has arrived at the same place he was in the last chapter - that to care would mean death. More heartbreak.
Ah, double blind. And this line: Any pleasure you take in her company only puts you both at greater risk - it cuts to the core of this story, doesn't it? Or rather, his fears regarding their relationship. ~sigh~ This is wonderful so far.
