Decades after the war, a special Auror taskforce is ready to take down the last five Death Eaters as they meet in a old forest in the middle of nowhere. Before the mission, Hermione learns of a danger no one had anticipated. If she doesn't warn Harry in time, everyone in the forest will die, including a tall, black-robed figure no one has seen since the end of the war.

I'm a 53 year old woman who wrote fanfic for years and adored doing it. While I lost the heart for fanfic after book 7 came out, I am still writing, and can be found at http://julianneqjohnson.com
You can find my published work on Amazon under the name Julianne Q Johnson.

I did a happy dance when I saw you were back and now I'm doing another one - Hermione and Severus together is sheer bliss . Please, consider another story. I've always loved your writing. Now, if you'll excuse me I'm off to visit Kindle Scout. ...,

I am very happy to be back. I will certainly consider writing another one, but perhaps not right away. Thank you for checking out my book on Kindle Scout!
I don't know what I expected to happen with them but this is truly realistic! At least in my imagination ^^ looking forward to the next chapters!!

So glad that you like it so far! Only one more chapter to go.
I like the way Ron believes her. With age comes wisdom.
The nargles remind me of the yellow jackets in my yard. When they want to attack, you have to throw them on the ground and stomp them (usually getting stuung in the process).
I am wondering if Snape lured the death eaters to the wood on this night to feed them to the nargles... but if so, why invite the aurors?

I never enjoyed portrayals of Ron as a young idiot who never grows up. I've tried to let him be an adult in my fics. I like Ron. Ohhh! Questions! Good thing I'm about to post another chapter then. :)
You have no idea how much I'm enjoying this. Thank you!
Response from PlaidPooka (Author of Night of the Nargles (complete))
Yay! I enjoyed writing it as well. :)
Nargles!!!! Hee.
Response from PlaidPooka (Author of Night of the Nargles (complete))
I know they're barely mentioned in the books, but I could never get them out of my mind. :)
A knife. Not sure how effective that will be. I think a bug zapper might work better against something small.
It seems like Hermione often finds herself in a position where she holds knowledge, incomplete knowledge, and runs out of time to use it rationally. The urgent over-rules the important.

In my mind, wizards, even muggleborn ones, tend to rely on their magic a bit too much. Makes it hard to know what to do when you don't have it.Perhaps my next tale will be one where Hermione figures everthing out with loads of time to spare! :D
I like the nod to the salamander and how he set the dampener to burn. ;-)
I also think your description of the quietness of Hermione's life is well done. It is funny how screamingly loud the absence of something can be.
I am so very glad you added another story. I do so love your style.
Response from PlaidPooka (Author of Night of the Nargles (complete))
I think a lot of us have experienced that quiet after something leaves our life. Thanks for the review!
You know, I always laughed at the nargles when I read about them in the books. Now I am getting a very bad feeling about this. Get a move on, Hermione! So glad you are leaning towards daily updates because I'm on the edge of my seat waiting!

Nargles always stuck in my head, for some reason. Glad you are enjoying it so far!
A subtle and clever chapter. Several hundred pages about a small forest sounds ominous, as does rebel bodies appearing beside the fountain. The law officers are too complacent. Why are these five rebels worth pursuing after thirty years, and how powerful are they to be able to survive this long? Finally, the heroine is lonely. Will all these items come together for a resolution?
Response from PlaidPooka (Author of Night of the Nargles (complete))
Perhaps.
I'm sure my coworkers think I'm crazy. I saw you'd posted a new fic and went dancing around the office like a madman. So VERY good to "hear" from you again, Pook!
