I'm a forty-something American woman who is addicted to the SSHG pairing, relatively new to this fandom. I'm also considering starting some original fiction soon...
Check out the story I co-wrote with Remarkable -- it's called "Hidden Attractions" and (as soon as it's through the queue) it's archived under the penname remarkable_linlawless.
For those who are interested, I've got two WIPs at my website (which I will eventually post here, but not until I have a complete draft). It's easy and free to join the website, so I hope you'll visit!
I am honored that my story, Witchy Woman, has been selected as a featured story for September 2010. Better yet, this honor came with the very awesome banner at the top of this post!
Here's a couple of banners my friend Atuliel made for the two WIPs at my website:
Reviews for A Kiss at Midnight
Wonderful seduction. If only you would continue. I'd love to read more. It would garner an extra half star. You know you want to. I wonder if this is Severus' first "Happy New Year"? The internal dialogue would be something fun to read.I too, never make New Year's resolutions. Just a waste of time. If it was something I really didn't intend to do, the fact that I made a New Year's resolution wouldn't make me more likely to stick with the thing I had obviously been avoiding the previous year.I suppose I look at them in a negative way like the ones that always say, "I'm going to lose weight" or "I'm going to be more frugal". Susan's might have been OK.In anycase, I've never had a New Year's kiss as far as I can remember. I've had some arguments though. It's not that I haven't wanted to be kissed, preferrably with passion. But, no...I have spent every New Year's eve since the tender and romantic age of 17 ( just the right age for holiday snogging) and for the last 33 years, with the same boring, stick in the mud, party pooper. And, telling him he's a boring, stick in the mud, party pooper has never phased him one wit. Thank God, he has other virtues.New Year's eve is always very anticlimatic. I could really use a good roll in the clover with Severus Snape for a change. Too bad he's all just pretend. (Not that he'd look at me twice if I was a witch. ) Maybe I'll resolve to have some fun someday and let sleeping lumps lie... He'd never notice.

LOL, I love that this story hit home with you. I think I've had a grand total of one New Year's kiss myself -- but these days, it's probably more because I can't stay awake than anything. Severus would be a nice treat for a New Year's Eve one of these years. BTW, I always make New Year's Resolutions for things that I was going to do anyway. Like "I resolve not to smoke this year," which is pretty easy to succeed at since I'm a lifetime non-smoker. This lets me start the New Year feeling successful. ;) Anyway, thanks for reviewing! :D
I loved this story!!

I'll bet they forget to owl anybody--I know I would! This was a great story, and a wonderful way to start off the new year. Between this and watching hours of Doctor Who on BBC America, this is my geek New Year dream! I really enjoyed the light banter between the two of them, as well as Severus' haggling with Lucius over terms and conditions. One wonders, if he got 3000 galleons just for a dance with Hermione, how much could he get for taking her home with him? He was supposed to help make connections with the "right people" after all! Heh heh...Thanks for sharing this one with us!

Hehehe, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate the thoughtful and specific review. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they actually sent an owl ... ;) Happy New Year! :)
"We'll owl them." Love it!

Happy New Year, indeed. This was as sweet as pie. Just what I needed to start off a new year- some no angst, no drama, just abundant happiness tale. I loved this: “But didn’t you say something about our dates?” “We’ll owl them,” he said firmly. Too funny. I'm pretty sure that by the time they arrive at his house, both dates and owls will be long since forgotten. I hope 2011 brings us lots of stories from you.
