I am an avid Harry Potter fan.  I am currently discovering the pleasure of writing my own fan fiction.

I am pragmatic person who yearns to be an optimist, but I know better.  I think maybe I am related to Severus.

Northwest born I now live in the midwest.

Well..sh!t...  This seems like a real possibility, this horrible selfishness and the cycle this type of man pulls victims into. I wish this wasn't Snape, but this really feels like a true version of Snape.  I felt a connection to your Hermione, her agony put a stone in my tummy.  Well done!

Thank you!  I am glad this story rang true for you and both characters were believable.  They say the best stories have a ring of truth to them so your compliment means the world.

I hope to hell Severus doesnt haunt her. Hermione certainly does not deserve it after putting up with his sorry self. You made me want to strangle Snape! That was werid.

Response from irishredlass (Author of Lost Cause)

Thanks Doll!  This fic definitely does not paint a pretty picture of Severus.  If he is anything like my "real life Snape" and if Hermione is anything like me it is likely thoughts of him will haunt her, but she will survive.

That was really good.

That was very intense... Thank you for another finely crafted tale, most beloved!

An interesting take on both their characters.  I like that Hermione wasn't torn up, fully accepting his flaws and weaknesses weren't a reflection on her in the end.I liked this much more than I thought I might when I started it - Snape's death wasn't the regretable waste or tugging of heartstrings many stories tell, and none the worse for it .

Response from irishredlass (Author of Lost Cause)

I am glad you were able to appreciate this story.  Often the reason death becomes a waste and a tragedy is because those who die have failed to appreciate the gift life is and lack the strength to live to their full potential.Hermione's journey in this story is one of self actualization she had to come to accept that no matter how much she loved Severus she could not change his life for him and he had made his own path.Thank youIrish
