i find myself reminded of the original Star Trek episode "Wolf In The Fold" in which the crew of the Enterprise comes across a malevolent, bloodthirsty, and evidently immortal incorporeal entity whch has the power to possess living people -- and which has a particular appetite for murdering women. One of the many names it supposedly had been given in the past was Jack The Ripper. It would have made an interesting crossover...

God, I remember that episode!! (I love Star Trek) It's been years since I've watch the tv series though, so while that wasn't inspiration for this fic, it's quite apt. This was more influenced by the movie <i>From Hell</i>, which had some interesting theories itself. I love crossovers, but since this was a prompt from long ago, I didn't have that freedom to explore outside the box than I already did. Thank you for such a thought-provoking review,
