Voldemort is dead. As others around her comb through the bodies and help the wounded, Hermione Granger thinks of only one wizard. A wizard who gave everything and died without anything to show for it, but the lives of those who survived because of him. A wizard who deserved a second chance; something Hermione would go to great lengths to make that happen.

Seriously, Echo is my real first name lol. For those who are actually curious, I was named after Echo Sackett in the 'Sackett Family Series' written by Louis La'mour. My mom wanted to name me 'Jennifer', but my she had already chosen my brother's name and dad insisted. I have to say, growing up, I hated my name. Now I LOVE it. If anything, its a great conversation opener in most situations lol.
Anyways, I have been a member of the HP FanFiction community since I stumbled across it in October of 2006. I had never heard of fan-fiction at that time... the story I found was called 'The Unseemly Proposal' - a Dramione. I thought it would be a waste of my time... but it got me hooked on fan-fiction. December 2006 I posted the first chapter of CHANGES UNFORSEEN, my own Dramione, which was also the FIRST thing I had ever written...(not counting forced essays and such in my school days.) Needless to say its snowballed since then and I have five seemingly popular WIP's that my Wonderful Beta SU has perfected and made into actual read-able stories! Yay for everyone, right? lol.
A SPEACIAL THANK YOU TO EVERYONE (SU!) WHO HELPED ME ACHEIVE 'APRIL 2009 FEATURED STORY'! I LOVE YOU GUYS! *HUGS*

You'll get no howlers from me. I found this an emotional and informative chapter. Now I understand Hermione's plans and motives a bit better.Good work.
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Thank you so much! Howlers are great and all... but not in reponse to what I've written lol... *HUGS*
It was interesting seeing her reactions to his rooms. :)
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Thank you! *HUGS*
Interesting, though I think Minerva is being prejudiced to not let students with a bad past into Hogwarts. The more you seperate them, the more likely they are to carrying hating the victors.
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Well, she will let thme in, but if they flaunt their prejudice's and break the rules, then they are out. Other then that, keep reading! lol
What a difficult task Hermione has taken on. But it sounds as if she has something in mind besides rearranging and restocking, and I am most intrigued.
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Thank you so much! *HUGS*
It must be so hard to have to go through everything of Severus'. Hopefully she figures out what to do soon.
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Thank you for reading! *HUGS*
Interesting start. Looking forward to seeing where this will go.
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Thank you! *HUGS* The next chapter is in the q... so keep looking for it!
Response from kittyperry (Reviewer)
Excellent :) It's nice to know the next one will be up soon.
Well, given that you've labeled this as Sevmione, I'm counting that she'll find what she needs to give him that 'second chance.' Okay, mini-rant... Ack, you killed Snape! How dare you? We all know he lived. You are living in dreamland my dear. Great premise for a story.
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Lol... Thats what I say to JKR in my head everytime I read Deathly Hallows... which is exactly what inspired this story ;) Thanks for reading and reviewing! *HUGS*
This is a good start. I like your attention to detail and the complexity of the story. Good luck;)Fizzabella

Thank you so much! *HUGS*
I can't wait to see how you manage a romance when he's so obviously dead, but I'm guessing stasis from the poison?
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Lol, Keep reading... more will be up soon! *HUGS*
I really enjoyed this first chapter and will definitely be following your new fic :) SGx
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy what I have in store for it! *HUGS*
So, my guess is that Hermione plans to use the mixture of venom and blood to concoct an antidote that is specifically keyed to Professor Snape's body chemistry. Then she will steal a Time-Turner and go back in time to dose him with it, whether he likes it or not! I'll be interested to see just how close I am (or not, as the case may be) to what occurs... Great story so far, even if I'm totally wrong in my hypothesis! I'll be watching for chapter two.
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Ummm... Mums the word lol. Thank you so much for reading! *HUGS*
Oooh, interesting beginning! But the scenes in the Shrieking Shack and Severus' funeral made me cry all over again. I'll definitely be back to see where you go with this.
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Thank you so much! I have an interesting plot lined up for TA... *HUGS*
This looks like it could turn out to be quite interesting, I'm curious to see what Hermione is going to do with the blood she took from Snape. Try to resurrect the dead perhaps? I guess we all know how Hermione can be when she gets an idea into her head.Looking forward to reading your future chapters. =)
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy what I have planned for them in this one! *HUGS*
Gah! I knew it was too good to be true that she would help him and not get away with it! Poor thing. How terrible to be punished for doing something good. Well, such severe punishment. I understand not messing with the timeline. I am a Star Trek geek, after all.
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Lol... I am too as of recently... Thank you for reading and reviewing! *HUGS*
"One day I'll explain this, but I can't now without ruining things in the future. Please believe me!" Thank goodness Severus listened to Hermione. This potion did indeed save his life. Your description of the pain Severus felt from Nagini's bite sounded horrible. Venom that felt like needles in his veins on top of the pain caused by having been bitten? Horrible! Feeling his heart beat slowing and the wound bleeding out, I was afraid that he would wait too long. But he remembered the phial in his pocket, and with the last of his strength he found the antidote and managed to drink it down. Thank the gods.
When Hermione returned to the closet in Minerva's office, her first inclination was to give into the depression she had felt on seeing him again as it reminded her of his death in the Shrieking Shack, but right away she realized that she was wasting precious time... he might be alive and she had to go see for herself. What joy she must have felt when she saw that there was no tomb! She knew that he had taken the potion and it had worked, but that feeling of elation was short-lived. Almost immediately she was hit with two spells from a pair of Unspeakables who had known immediately that someone at Hogwarts Castle had used the Founder's Time-Turner. I had hoped that she would not be found out, but I didn't really think that would be the case. Still, the important thing is that Severus is alive, and now I will hope for the best.
Apparently Hermione had returned to a time that was several months after the final battle, because Severus had woken up in the hospital wing and secreted himself away until that very day when Hermione ran out to the burial place and saw that his tomb was not there. He had had time to analyze the remaining potion to find out what made up the antidote, but he couldn't discern the identity of his savior– until he saw Hermione Granger being arrested.
I was shocked when the Unspeakables told Minerva and Severus how long Hermione would be sent to Azkaban. Fifteen years? With no public trial, it was only through the persuasive arguments for mercy that she would only have to spend two months in the prison, and a year without her wand or the use of magic. All things considered, this is the best possible outcome she could have hoped for once she was discovered.
When the Unspeakables retire to the back of the room to discuss the terms of Hermione's punishment, Severus gave her a furious look. And now he would be in charge of her incarceration at Hogwarts. I wonder what kind of story they will make up to account for Hermione's sudden and long absence. I'm looking forward to seeing how the next two months and the following year go for her. Surely during that time Severus will have learned to be grateful for his life and to the young woman who made it possible.
Great chapter!Beth

*hangs head* Sometimes I just get carried away... especially when I'm really into a story. *smiles*
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Lol... thats okay... I like it when people get carried away with my fics lol. Thank you so much! *HUGS*
What an interesting turn of events. I'm so glad she brought him back. I can understand the need for punishment, however. We can't go around changing the past. I've watched enough sci-fi to understand the implications. This is a fascinating story.
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Thank you so much! I'm happy to hear so many of you like it despite me putting her in jail lol... *HUGS*
I'm enjoying this so far. Looking forward to magic'less Hermione, and of course, any SS/HG moments coming up. Love the interactions people write for those characters. wish they had interacted more in the books with each other, what a brilliant match they could have made!
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Yeah, they are the best... Thank you for reading and reviewing! *HUGS*
Hey, it beats 15 years in Azkaban. I think she should feel quite fortunate! Anyway, can't wait for the next chapter.
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
THank you so much! I'm uploading it later tonight... *HUGS*
Got to be better than 15 years in Azkaban! :)
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Yeah... but even without Dementors, it would still suck lol. Thanks for reading! *HUGS*
Interesting turn of events. They had better keep it quiet because if Harry finds out there will be hell to pay.
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Yep... Thanks for reading! *HUGS*
She knew it would happen. This could definitely be interesting.
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Thanks for reading! *HUGS*
Thankfully, Hermione succeeded, but for a hefty price. Fortunately, a price that the combined efforts of Professors McGonagall and Snape managed to reduce considerably, but still... Hermione's in for a rough time. Two months in Azkaban is nothing to sneeze at, but I imagine what she faces when she returns to Hogwarts might, in some respects, be worse.
Great update, BTW. :)
Response from EchoLynn (Author of The Antidote)
Thank you! *HUGS*
OMG! This is so exciting and I can't wait to find out how Hermione convinces Severus that she can really help him. Unless she is willing to remove her glamor, he will have no idea who she is... so will he e willing to trust a stranger, a girl whom he has never seen before?I like that Hogwarts has its own special kind of Time-Turner. It's something that I think the founders would have wanted to have for the use of the Headmasters of the school, and what better than one that can take the user to any time and place they might need. Excellent idea! The only thing I'm worried about with her use of the Time-Turner is if it has been tagged in some way so that the Unspeakables will know if it has been used. Gracious, I have so many questions! What is in the letter she took with her? Will she let Severus know who she really is? Will she stay in this past time? Will she choose to return to her time? What will happen when Severus returns? Will history be changed so that no one will know that Severus had been killed? Will they all just remember that he survived the battle?Fabulous!Beth
