my catalyst into the world of hp fanfic was the ignominious death of severus snape by snakebite in dh. grrrrr. he deserved better, and i set off on a mission to find it! i appreciate and admire the vast and limitless creativity of all of the wonderful writers on this site and in this fandom.
accordingly, for me it's mostly about snape: ss/le, ss/hg, ss/rl are my favorite ships. i especially like happy endings for those who did not get them at the hands of jkr.

lol! glad your husband only threatened to cut the internet - that would be too sad!karelia, for whom i wrote this, is my beta, so i have learned much from her about the proper use of commas; it seemed a fitting tribute.i apologize for your painful paroxism, but gratefully accept the gift of stars. and i never grade punctuation and such in reviews - i'm just happy to receive them.*cracks riding crop* ;)

That was hilarious. It was so serious until the end. I hope that all authors don't receive that treatment for comma abuse. Unless they ask for it, that is.

glad it made you laugh. karelia has an icon that says something like, "have you ever wanted to hit someone in the name of grammar?" which i think had something to do with inspiring this one. :)
Ah, if only Abuse of Grammar were a flogging offense. Without sex involved. But all those descriptive linguists out there are just looking at me and shaking their heads at my draconian prescriptive ideas.Truly, though, can we at least make "using a similar—but wrong—word" cause for censure. There truly are differences between plumy and plummy. Likewise taut and taunt.If that doesn't reveal what kind of fic I spend my time reading...I just can't enjoy smut that doesn't pass a SPAG inspection. It's the difference between "thinking of England" and "coming like a freight train." Maybe that's what happened. Severus wrote smut for Hermione, and Hermione caught an errant comma. Said comma greatly diminished her enjoyment of the piece, and she just had to exact punishment.

I never understood English comma rules. I have a German comma sense and that will never change. I always add some extra commas, but as I see now, that could be a distinctive advantage. Guess who I want to be my comma master?Very good story, btw. Funny and tantalising at the same time. I had to laugh out loud at the unexpected twist, very cleverly done.(How many strikes did that review earn me? How many commas did I abuse? I honestly don't know.)

glad you enjoyed it. i wouldn't say i exactly have a thing for bdsm, but sometimes it seems the only appropriate solution for a particular situation. apparently, comma abuse is such a situation for some people. :D
So funny! (And hot!) As a grammar Nazi myself, I see certain possibilities in my future. Excellent little story! I enjoyed it tremendously.

I really had to laugh when I read this as I've just been having major problems with conjunctions and commas (not to mention compound sentences) with my recent posting! (If you don't believe me, ask Semra!) So thank you for this :-)
BTW: Any chance of joining that queue to 'borrow' Severus for my punishment?! I feel sure that we are all 'deserving' cases really!!
