I have to apologize to everyone, period. Real life swallowed me whole, as I have been struggling to make a living writing original fiction over the last 8 years. It has not been easy, & has been complicated by health issues. I hope people can forgive my long silences. Trying to make enough money to live on from writing is a lot harder--waaaay harder--than it looks. (At least I didn't leave any posted fanfics unfinished.)
Anyhoo...
These stories are works of parody (& thus are allowable under US law), and are not written for profit. Just for fun. I'm not making any money off of any fanfics, nor will I ever. I'm just playing around in other writers' universes.
...I am, however, making something of a living off my own stories. (If anyone wants to play around in my universes, you may visit my website, www.jeanjohnson.net, and look up my policy on Fanfics & Fanarts. It's reasonable enough and fairly easy to follow, too...)

Tee he, pink elephants... reminded me of For Someone Special. I know that was random, but that was a great story. Absolutely brilliant chapter! I loved Severus and Hermione's thinly veiled innuendo.

Lol, it wasn't entirely random; the pink pachyderm was FSS-inspired. (What can I say, they like being employed by me!)~Lotm

This is very entertaining.
Oh my god, it was beautiful. In fact, that is what I just said aloud, just now, to the empty room at large. Beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing that with the rest of us. It is one of my all time favorites.

Delightful!
Were you given a prompt to write, or did you get to write your own idea? Whichever way--it was great fun.

I offered up an SS/HG with smut and a Happy Ending. My prize-winner requested a Severus/Hermione when she's younger, either student or apprentice. (But still 18+ in age!) Beyond that...the idea was an old neglected dust covered plot-bunny I'd stashed away in a half-forgotten hutch. Found the .doc file/hutch when poking around, looking for inspiration...and voila! A story was born.~Lotm

Oh, that was lovely. I really enjoyed Hermione's conversations with the Hat. It was quite the clever ruse towards ending her dalliances with Ron.Hermione and Severus's snogging sessions were delicious. Thanks to you and Ebay Dragonfly for sharing it with the rest of us.

More than that, it was a way to end Ron's interest in Hermione! *huzzah*~Lotm

A round of applause for the Hat!
What an awesome fic! I find myself wanting more chapters, a longer story....lol
She is exhibiting a few Slytherin tendencies there!

Yes she is, isn't she? ...But then Snape has exhibited Hufflepuff-level loyalty, Ravenclaw-quick wits, and Gryffindor-style bravery. We all have the potential for at least some of the other Houses in us; it depends on just how much, and how willing we are to display them. That's what makes a character fascinating, giving them depth and intricacy, and the circumstances where these qualities can be explored...~Lotm

delicious and tenderly touching. thanks so much
I am SO glad you don't have any short ideas!I love Granger/Snape forced together stories of all stripes, and the Sorting Hat is a wonderful twist.
What a sensible use for the Sorting Hat! It really makes perfect sense! (I wish I'd thought of it!) This is a charming tale. Thank you for sharing it.

I loved this short story! It is amazing to me how you can write so many convoluted and sexy machinations in only two chapters, but that's why you are the entertaining author that you are and have the well-deserved following that you do.A Thousand Points to Your House!!!Beth

Hi, Lady! This is fabulous, as all of your writings are, and I'm very much looking forward to following along as you weave another fine tapestry. There are a variety of threads... humor, URST, innuendo and down right flirting. Good for you!You made me laugh out loud several times and marvel at how Hermione and Severus could carry on such a stimulating conversation right under the nose of Professor Sprout. They managed to get to know each other much better, and make plans for "outside activities" that would allow them to "explore" other facets of their relationship. I can't wait to read the next chapter, so I'm off to do that right now!!!Beth

That was lovely! And yummy!
Loved it! The sorting hat was a great idea for a magical matchmaker, and I really liked the fact that they had to deal with the rest of the staff as chaperones. Enjoyed from beginning to end.
I've enjoyed your short story. I'm horrible with suspense, so I'm glad there weren't chapters of cliffhangers with assorted people ready to burst in on our happy couple ... although I'll admit that more chapters would have been appreciated. Ah, well. Anyway, good luck with your projects and thanks for your work!

The thing about interrupting characters for suspense is that it quickly gets tiresome. There's a saying that a "comedy beat" can only be done a maximum of 3 times to achieve hilarity; the fourth time, it's trite and overused, and the audience is no longer amused. The author either has to do something else, or abandon the scheme entirely. (See Matrimony for a good example of this.) I also wanted to aim more for a romance feel than a comedy feel...and I think I succeeded. At the very least, I kept you entertained, yay!*hugs*~Lotm

Alas, nope, not gonna happen. It's NaNo, I have 2 book contracts to fulfil, and one of them has to be produced asap if it's to hit the publication schedule in time to come out late in 2009...and paid work comes first. I finished (particularly where it ended) the fanfic because it was a long-pending prize, and I had only allotted myself 2 days into NaNoWriMo for fanficcage. So though I'd like to write more--and we'd all like to read more--it ain't gonna happen. I do fanfic for fun and parody, not for profit, but I gotta make enough money to pay the bills....Mind you, it'd be nice to make the kind of money Rowling makes, but she's the giant 60-foot-tall mutant cockroach with frikkin laser beam eyed and cthulhu tentacled exception to the rule of how little writers make. (...I love that description, it's so vividly accurate...) So the paid stuff comes first.--But as you can see, I haven't stopped writing SS/HG!~Lotm

If I had known when getting out of bed this morning that a story written by you was waiting to be read, I would probably not have gotten into bed at all in the first place, I would have sat put at my pc, pushing the refresh button eagerly awaiting for the story to show:-))What a marvellous story, you really made my day! I loved every bit of it, especially Hermiones words about what she intended to do with the sorting hat if it dared pairing her with Ron.
I loved your Hermione and Severus, you write them so well! Not at least because you portrait Hermione like I love her, as strong, clever, resourcefull, smart (thus not have any inkling of ever snogging Ron, urgh what a terrible thought), but still very much human, and not as this "damzel in distress" who lets everyone walk all over her that so many authors portrait her these days. You prove that one can present a human side to Severus without making him look weak, if anything, he gets even more attractive when he allows himself to grab onto a new chance for happiness. I just loooove a Severus who warns Hermione that what he is possesive and that what he claims he intend to keep:-))Again, a wonderful, brilliant story and I know a friend of mine who will be trilled when I tell her that our favourite author have submitted a new story!!!

"If I had known..." LMAO! XD ...No, no, you needed your sleep. The last thing you'd want to do is read one of my stories when bleary-eyed. Except maybe Frogs In Winter (01). That'd be even funnier when punch-drunk from lack of rest, I think...but *coughcough* I am NOT suggesting anyone do that...*checks to make sure her butt's been covered...**hugs* Thanks for the praise and the pimpage,
