Thanatos is an apt deity for Snape to have invoked since he is the god of a Sweet Death, a non-violent death. His touch was gentle, similar to that of his twin brother, the god of Sleep, Hypnos. And at heart, Snape is a sweet and caring man — witness his efforts to defeat the Dark Lord and to talk Hermione out of persuing her dream gift from Father Christmas. If he acceded to Hermione's request, her virginity would meet a sweet death, to be replaced by an understanding of the possibilities of mature love making.

This Snape may be sweet and caring, but only for the holidays. lol. Normally, my Snape would have been stripped down and ready to rock hard at "I want . . ." lol. Both are probably OOC as heck, but . . . lol, I'm into extremism much of the time. Thanks for commenting. **
