6 Ratings, 0 Likes, 8 Favorites )Severus Snape was discovered to be a spy by Voldemort shortly after his resurrection, and was saved by a dissolutioned Lucius Malfoy. Now joint No.1 on Voldie's shit list, they're stuck at Hogwarts and bored out of their skulls. During a maudlin drinking session, they decide to try to get rid of their Dark Marks. Snape has confiscated a tattooist's business card form one of his Muggleborn students - and, completely smashed, they decide to get a tattoo to cover up the Marks and apparate to muggle Glasgow, into the parlour where Cat Duncan, the owner of the business card, works.
All poor Cat wants to do is get a mocha and go home, now she's got two drunk wizards on her hands. Fortunately, Cat knows about wizards as the student Snape took the card from is her little brother. Faeries in the Backyard
1 Rating, 0 Likes, 2 Favorites )Do you believe in faeries in the backyard? Do you almost hear the soft, mocking tinkle of bell-like laughter when you trip on a loose stone in a meandering garden path? Could you swear you felt the whirring flutter of filmy wings caress your shoulder on that fragrant spring evening … or was it just the wisteria-scented, billowing breeze? Do eyes—angled eyes, dewy eyes, envious eyes, curious eyes—watch you in the garden? Does a glimmer of light, caught in the creased corner of your eye, make you gasp and turn quickly, face searching and open, hands frozen in mid-movement, waiting, seeking a glimpse of the bright, evasive mystery.

Rage--Forbidden Monastery
by chivalric
1 Rating, 0 Likes, 1 Favorite )Rage, a seasoned assassin, lives by his own rules.
Lucinda, his latest target, is sixteen, snappish, and can truly take care of herself. She grew up hating her father but never expected him to hate her back enough to hire an assassin.
For Rage, killing children is not an option. For Lucinda, getting called a child is an insult.
Naturally, he kidnaps her. Naturally, taking care of a stubborn girl isn’t quite as easy as he thought, especially not when her best friend, Keiran, comes after them.
Huh. Love. Aren't things complicated enough?

Black as Snow
8 Ratings, 0 Likes, 10 Favorites )Bellatrix and Tom Riddle--two of the most enigmatic characters in Harry Potter--have puzzled writers and readers alike since their equally horrifying introductions. Why did Bellatrix believe she was Lord Voldemort's most dedicated and favored follower? Why did the Dark Lord indulge a woman whom he could have squashed like an insignificant bug; why did he allow her to continue in her 'delusions,' if, indeed, they were delusions?
I believe that these allowances are not simply coincidences. Why should the most feared dark wizard of all time cater to a pawn? There must have been prior connections between the two to create this bond.
In "Black as Snow," we glimpse a snippet of Tom Riddle's life at Hogwarts, his (hypothetical) introduction to Bellatrix, and, afterwards, the special bond the witch and wizard shared ... then, and now.

230 Ratings, 0 Likes, 57 Favorites )Deathly Hallows Prompts 6 and 8.
6. The kids leave after Snape dies. He sits up and realizes he is a ghost. (I changed this to a portrait instead of a ghost.)
8. As Hermione, Ron, and Harry watch Snape die, Hermione is devastated because she has been secretly in love with him. (The prompt calls for Hermione to use a Time-Turner to go back and rescue Severus, but I wanted to comply with the book and see if I could write a story where Hermione develops a strong, loving friendship with the Severus Snape she meets as a portrait many years later.)
Time: After the Epilogue. Place: Hogwarts. Hermione is teaching at Hogwarts and is Deputy Headmistress to Minerva McGonagall. Her children, Rose and Hugo, live at Hogwarts with her; her husband Ron manages the All-England Quidditch League. When Minerva McGonagall dies, Hermione is appointed Headmistress and moves in to the Head’s office.

To Be or Not to Be
by _Levicorpus_
37 Ratings, 0 Likes, 0 Favorites )The ruins of Hogwarts were bathed in the scant light of a crescent moon. And gliding through the darkness below was the imprint of a lost hero. The spirit flexed its growing permanence, feeling the unnerving sensation of swallowing boulders with its newfound form. It, or rather he—he had been a ‘he’ at one point—moved through the dewy, body-strewn grass tense with the memory of the extraordinary choice he’d been given.

Exanimus Virtutis: A Hero’s Goodbye
by LadyTuesday
39 Ratings, 0 Likes, 14 Favorites )"It seemed as if in the end the only things Severus Snape had been able to retain were his life and his dignity, and even those had been stripped from him roughly in his last moments. He hadn’t even been given a glorious champion’s death for his troubles. She’d never get through this if she kept dwelling on that sort of thought, and she refused to leave the poor man as he was. She was going to clean him up, seal up his wounds and take him back to Hogwarts; back to his home. After all he’d done, he deserved that much. They owed him that much."

Hermione's Portrait
by Pearle
12 Ratings, 0 Likes, 6 Favorites )Sometimes even the afterlife can offer things that would have never have been possible in reality. At least now Severus might have a chance at happiness he never had when he was alive.
Warning: There is a main character death as suggested by the title. Unfortunately, it is necessary to bring the story to its conclusion.
Note: This story is inspired by a story by beaweasley2, “Painted Domain.” The story can be found on this archive and is a very entertaining read. I highly suggest you check that story and her other work out. My mind turned to what ifs after reading her story. What does a portrait feel? What would happen if Severus and Hermione had reached an accord of some type and something happened to Hermione? What then? Hermione's Portrait attempts to answer those questions. Enjoy!
