It was a very well written story, but I can't bear to think of him alone, and broken on the cold stone floor.

Fascinating, what tricks the brain can play on you sometimes. How cruel.he would have deserved her. waiting for one whole year.grr.And then this Potter clan again.No wonder he was so mixed up in the end, that he called her Lily. But different from her, Hermione never promied anything. so not her fawlt this time.Give him something to heal, please. be kind to him.

! This was one of the very first pieces of fanfic I ever wrote, and I am rather fond of it, despite its unhappy ending. And you have so accurately captured what I wanted to portray! Thank you again; I really appreciate it. In many of my fics, I will be kind to him. I promise. But here, I'm afraid, he doesn't get the happy ending. *sniff*

sad! *pouts* wicked the way you pulled the rug out from under us. too sad the image of somewhat wigged-out severus sunken on the cold stone floor. i will go read your other story now in search of a happier ending.

yes, my other story does indeed have a happier if somewhat ambiguous ending, so yay!I love your phrase "somewhat wigged-out severus" I think that sums it up nicely. Evil, evil little plot bunny! I enjoy my fics with lemons and happy endings, but this little bugger would not leave me alone. Thanks for the review, I'm glad it surprised you!!~kizzy
And that puts a twist on the normal Hermione / Severus tales. I rather like this one even though the ending isn't happy. Shows a very different side to the would be relationship. Good work.

A very chilling twist on Snape/Hermione, and yet one which just stays with you... I thought it very well done, and it also makes you think. It starts out like a standard romance, then takes a left turn at the last minute and knocks you for a loop! Sometimes the unhappy tales are the most powerful ones. Thanks for sharing!

Oh my. What a whammy you pulled on us, setting us up for one thing and delivering another. Just like Hermione did (or seemed to do) to Severus.

yes, he is definitely unstable in this fic. Actually, that is what gave me the idea for the story... severus mixing up hermione and lily... and it went from there. Thanks so so much for reviewing!!

Thank you so much for your review! It was sad, it was sad to write because I am a hardcore hg/ss shipper and they should be together! But the rabid plot bunny demanded otherwise... I am glad you enjoyed it and thought it was well-written (*squee!) As a newbie author, I really appreciate it!

I think this was very well written. You really packed a lot into a short piece. Poor Severus, Has he imagined all those other student crushes? or only the one that matters, the one he requited?

I think that as Severus is the youngest teacher on staff (and well we find him to be so attractive...) that some students are bound to have a crush on him. But I think that he was truly in love with Hermione-- he was attracted to her both intellectually and sexually-- and so he imagined things that weren't there. And I think he just wanted to be loved so badly by someone he cared for that he saw manifestations of love where there were none. Poor Severus! And thanks so much for the review, I am so glad you liked it! (sorry about this long response, I'm at work tonight and incredibly bored!)
Oh my goodness! There is something not right in Snape's head. I feel sorry for the guy!
