Magnificent chapter!  There are so many things to love about it.  The color symbolism is wonderful:• the green in the sky when the Morsmordre appears to announce the arrival of the Dark Lord's forces...• in the sky, the red sparks turning into the emblem of a phoenix to signify that the Dark Lord's forces had been defeated in their attack on Hogwarts Castle...• the bluebell blue of the walls of flame Hermione cast to trap Morgen...• the gold of the protective spell that Harry cast to prevent the Dark Lord's curses from harming him...*****I was glad to see that Severus extracted a reluctant promise from Dumbledore to "provide relief" to Hermione if Severus died and Voldemort survived:  ‘You must provide relief, by the only means possible.’The headmaster’s eyes grew wide with consternation. ‘She’s just a girl … so many have already died …’Incensed, Severus slapped his palms upon the tabletop. ‘I’ll have your word, old man,’ he snarled.Now Dumbledore knows what it feels like to be manipulated.*****I wonder what was happening at the same time that Hermione told Tonks, ‘No, I’m not hurt—but I feel so odd…’ Then she swayed on her feet and fell bonelessly to the ground, incapacitated as surely as if she had been hit by a Stunner, as well.Was that when Severus had leapt between Harry and Voldemort's ‘Avada Kedavra’?  Or did it happen when Voldemort died?  Or did it happen when Severus was hit by Dennis Creevey's spell?*****I have loved this story from the very beginning.  It has captured my heart and my imagination, and brought me countless hours of pleasure.  I will hate to see it end, but it must, and I realize that.  I can't wait to read the last chapter and find out what happens to my OTP.Thank you for sharing this exquisitely beautiful gift.  I am such a huge fan of your writing!A Thousand Points to Ravenclaw!Beth

Subversa:This has been in the top-five (no, the top-three) among my very FAVORITE stories currently ever since it started.  The only negative thing I have to say about it is that I'm sorry it's about to end.  Yet, I look forward to an ending chapter as masterful as this one has been.  I loved the movement and action of this chapter, yet you interspesed it with just enough mental soliloquey to keep us tuned in to what was going on in your character's heads--perfect balance.  Even at such a breathless pace, your scenes flowed seamlessly one into another.  A previous reviewer marveled at how you packed so much into one chapter, and I fully agree, and along with that request an equally (if not more) fully-packed chapter in your next.  I am SO anxious to see how Grandmother Prince's "You will know" works out, for Hermione to know exactly what to do and say to declare her choice of Severus and convince him at last of the surety of her love.  Like others, I want to put in my request (if it isn't too late and the chapter's not already written) for a nice LONG, detailed, juicy chapter, full of explanations and declarations and lots of "the love you make".Thank you for the gift to all of us of this beautiful story,Countrymouse

Great chappie!!! It's like adding insult on top of injury that Severus got taken down by a fourth-year! The child would probably be very wise never to admit to that particular spell...if he even bothers to look at who he took down after the fact... Now that Voldemort is dead, Hermione's free of the curse (right?) so at least we don't have to worry about Dumbledore attempting to kill her... Hopefully Hermione is just exhausted rather than actually hurt (or maybe she started 'feeling odd' when Voldemort bit the dust), and Severus won't get trampled or something before he's either found or wakes up on his own... Severus is probably going to fight her every inch of the way if she's actually cured, doubt he believes that she could possibly still have feelings for him (other than disgust over having been forced to be with him at all) without the compulsion in place. Hope she remembers his Grandmother's advice... Looking forward to the next!

I hope the youngest Creevey botches his spell! Harry's unique method of dealing with Voldemort was a pretty nifty invention -- and you've still got Hermione out there, in who knows what situation. Lots of suspenseful threads still unwinding; hope you update soon!

And in the endThe love you takeIs equal toThe love you make.Wonder if Lennon knew just how powerful that all really is?This is a very evil cliffie to end a very exciting chapter, but I'm just gonna take a wild guess here and suppose that Severus wouldn't have survived everything just to be felled by a 4th-year.I'll be deeply sorry to see this end, but I am truly looking forward to the reunion to come--I'm praying for prolonged and juicy, as they have been apart too long and must now make things permanent.If only for the sanity of your faithful readers!This has been brilliant all the way through, by the way, and I like your ending to Voldy much more than You-Know-Who's.  It just makes much more sense that he should be felled by love, "the one creature on earth so diametrically opposed to love that he could die of it."  Bravo!!

Hermione felt the release of the spell, huh? Only one more chapter?! I can't believe its ending. This was a perfect way for Voldemort to die-- by love. Before DH, I thought that love was going to be a big part of how Harry defeated Voldemort-- what with jkr's emphasis on love. But then she threw in the Elder Wand, etc. This, I think, was much preferable! And please please a happy ending?!

The last part was so beautiful.  I can't tell you how much I love it when my boyfriend calls me petal, so I have a particular attachment to that name.  It's such a gorgeous image, Severus and Hermione with the roses.

I wonder was Hermione's collapse at the same time as the Dark Lord's demise? Is that why she felt peculiar as the spell was released with his death?Now I fear we will also find Hermione at Severus' bedside from the attack of the DA.  There will be a lot of explaining to do and I hope a wedding to follow.
