A Celtic heart residing in Denver in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains,I've been posting fictions for about a year now  and have  met some wonderful new friends, including an outstanding beta.Image

Professionally I'm the Operations Director of a modern dance ensemble, and personally the proud mother of two wonderful daughters.
Those of you who read my works know my passion for the beauty and power of language -- it is my goal to lure the reader into the story -- invoking powerful images, and waking the magic of the tale in their hearts.  Much like a potion, I hope to bewitch and ensnare.  I VERY MUCH appreicate reviews and critiques.  Very helpful to see what my readers are thinking.  Currently working on an epic piece and am so happy that so many of you are becoming immersed in it, and are also saying you like my shorter pieces as well.  It's an honor to be in the company of some incredible writers - and readers as well !!

Very sweet and healing. Lovely Lucius and Narcissa story.

Revelations come in so many forms, don't they - sometimes subtly, sometimes with blinding clarity.  I'm so glad you enjoyed this little tale - thank you!

What a lovely side to Lucius that we don't always get to see.

How very heartwarming. I often wonder how Lucius and Narcissa fared after the war was over. I would imagine a great deal of soul searching, genuine soul searching on Lucius part. Unlike the end of the first conflict with Voldemort, where Lucius remained an arrogant believer and continued to follow that path. Perhaps it was the realization that his family was far more important than his ideals and the disillusionment which followed. In your short drabble you effectively picked up on that possible conflict. I loved it as with everything you write.

Response from moiramountain (Author of Slivers)

Oh - how wonderfu to see you here !! I'd agree - they are a fascinating bunch.  In this case, I imagine them exiled, without all their trappings to divert them - and in the midst of simplicity, seeking introspection.  I imagine Narcissa had it all figured out long before her husband - but being a devoted pure-blood wife, allowed him to follow his course, and focused instead on protecting her son.

Wow that was truly lovely. What a beautiful view into a couple I don't tend to give enough thought to. Thank you for sharing.

Response from moiramountain (Author of Slivers)

My pleasure.   I've been under Severus' spell for years (and always shall be) but lately this family has drawn more of my interest - as with so many of the adult HP characters, I felt they were left rather one-dimensional in canon - but then that leaves us the fun of filling in the blanks !  Hoping to see you again along our TPP road.

Sweet. :)

Response from moiramountain (Author of Slivers)

I've never viewed Lucius as the philanderer  - arrogant, prejudiced, cruel at times - but fierce in his devotion to his own - albeit twisted - set of ideals.  I do believe his love for his wife and son was genuine.

*applauds wildly*  This drabble tells the story of a lifetime in so few words.  Beth

In the midst of working on IHN - and also the beginnings of a new Draco piece - Lucius and Narcissa came to mind, and one tends not to ignore those Malfoys.  Thank you dear heart - I'd hoped to see you here !!

Bravo! Sweet and romantic.  The best gift she ever received I'm sure.

Response from moiramountain (Author of Slivers)

Adversity has a way of forcing new perspectives, doesn't it?  It's my hope that whole family reconsidered their priorities.

Positively lovely....

Response from moiramountain (Author of Slivers)

Thank you very much!  It's been a while since I attempted the discipline of expressing a story through a drabble.

That was lovely!  A very romantic bit of symbolism.  I'm sure Narcissa was touched.

Response from moiramountain (Author of Slivers)

I'd like to think it meant more to her than all the lavish jewels he'd ever given her.

Beautiful!

Response from moiramountain (Author of Slivers)

Thank you - a small Malfoy vignette that grew out of a virtual crystal heart that my beta gifted to me for Valentine's Day - the muse does find strange paths, doesn't she?

Exquisitely beautiful, as is everything you write.

Response from moiramountain (Author of Slivers)

Thank you so much - I'm honored that you enjoy my tales!

Truly lovely, sometimes the heart must break, to be made whole.

Response from moiramountain (Author of Slivers)

The Malfoy's perceptions are so badly skewed due to so many generations of instilled prejudices - but their saving grace has always been, ard remains, devotion to family.  I've never viewed Lucius as the phillanderer so many portray - and I do feel that last year with his "Lord" in residence must have shaken him to the core, forcing him to rethink his priorities.  Thank you for such a kind review - I'm pleased this little piece is still being discovered !!
