Forty-something, married, Professional Colorist seeks intelligent, scrawny man with misunderstood past. Tattoos a plus, snarkiness a must.
My interests include: Eating, breathing, napping, swearing and chocolate; as well as long, romantic walks from the refrigerator to my computer.
Needed skills must include: Foot massage, adoration, feeding my kids for me and ironing my husband's work clothes, along with sneering, looming, staring at me with desire, and reading whatever I hand you into my ear in a sultry tone.

Interesting start. As I understand it, well-to-do girls did not attend boarding schools in the early 1800s, but had governesses and private tutors. Oh well, this is AU and a wizarding tale. ^_^
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
Hermione is not well-to-do, she is solidly middle class. Worse, her father, the youngest son of a minor baronette, has gone into a trade and disgraced his family by refusing to indulge in the genteel poverty expected of him at the time. Boarding schools for girls were quite popular at this time, if you could afford the fees. Trust me. I went nuts making this as historically accurate as possible—right down to what linguistic contractions were used at the time—and what I missed, my BritPick/Regency Checker caught. She has extensive knowledge of this area.
Response from MsTree (Reviewer)
Okay. My knowledge comes from research about the upper classes. Sorry. ^_^
Ooo, I lke regency style stories. I can't wait to see Snape's method of 'persuading' Hermione's parents!
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
LOL! He's not as smooth as one would like...
Eeeeheeehee! A frock-coated Snape in nearly his natural setting!
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
This was a surprisingly natural setting for him. Hermione, on the other hand... Fish out of water.
that was great! its a very good regencyesque write. well done! will look forward to more chapters. :O)
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
Wonderful! Because there are more than 40 chapters coming!
Wow! This is so interesting! I'm a massive Jane Austen fan and I think your writing is spot on. What an amazing challenge for you - I do look forward to the next chapter. (I read this on my blackberry in tiny, tiny writing!)
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it. I was actually more than a bit terrified to take on Austen. lol.
Excellent beginning! I can't wait for the rest.
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
Thank you! The rest is coming!
Um... I am unbelievably psyched for this story. Literally begging you for more!

Oh, how lovely to have this fic now also posting here! I hope you don't mind if I don't re-read and write a review right now, but just want to add my rating to the masses! ;o)
Author's Response: lol! Not at all. It was all I could do to keep up with the reviews the first time around. :-)
Yay! You're posting this here! I read it elsewhere an Looooved it, but I am long overdue for a re-read. More literary goodness from Aurette!
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
*hugs*
Oh, I like this very much. And it's only the first chapter. I have not had the fortune of reading this at another site so I look forward to the next chapter with great anticipation. I enjoy reading stories in this time period. Ready for a glorious ride!
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
I think you shall enjoy this ride, but you should buckle yourself in!
Ooh! I read this on FFN after you posted there last spring. To be honest, Regency is not really my thing, so I have a hard time reading some of it (but I managed it on my phone while standing in lines at Universal Studios). Your writing style makes up for the Regency stuff though and it all seems to come together. I look forward to reading it again.
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
I'm glad I helped you through long lines!
Oooh, I get to re read this here!
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
Yesh!
This is going to be fun! I can hardly wait for more!
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
More is already in the queue!
What an interesting premise. It is so HP and yet so not, but still entirely wonderful. I am excited to see where this goes!
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
This one goes all over the place!
Response from HBAR (Reviewer)
YAY!
Interesting blend of period piece and JKR! :)
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
Thank you!
I know I've read this before. Are you re-posting it, or was it on another fanfic site first?
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
This story was posted in a rough beta'd form on ff.n. It has been polished to meet TPP standards and is being posted here for the first time because I promised MollysSister I would. :-)
I've just realised that this story isn't finished and I am heartbroken and utterly bereft. Please, if you see this, will you satisfy my need to devour your fics, and finish this glorious story?? Please?
So far so good. Can't wait to read more. ^_^
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
Yays! More on the way!
I am so enjoying this story I really appreciate the way you are adapting it to a different time period. Can't wait to see how everything unfolds!
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
It unfolds... sideways. Snape's interaction with her has already cast her onto a new road.
Ah a new name for Harry Potter. "The Boy With Poor Eyesight." LOL.This is really fun!
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
The Boy Who Had Many Nicknames...LOL!
Wonderful! A lovely way to start my weekend!
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
I'm so glad!
I can't tell you how much I love this story! It's great to see them all in a different setting, and you've done so well describing simple things like their clothing to great effect. Very excited for the next chapter.
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
Ah, the next chapter... where my story starts to slide off course...
I'm glad he doesn't resetn her for her rash words. Even if any of them cannot say what it means. I can't wait for school to begin already.
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
I think he was, in fact, a bit amused. Which probably surprised him as much as anyone...
This is working really well as a Regency story. I like the beginnings of the relationship between Hermione and Professor Snape. They can at least speak honestly to one another.
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
Very true! Those first impressions are pivotal...
This is such fun! Snape has been very kind to her in his own way. It will be interesting to see how that changes when she is in his classroom. I suppose despite time or place, she will still be a know-it-all :) Brilliant, as always.
Response from Aurette (Author of Of Muggles and Magic)
Exactly! And thank you...
