This story (or should that be "thiss sstory"?) is adorable! I gather that it's not a one-shot -- I'm looking forward to reading more. Am I right in guessing that the Animagus whom the snake caught was McGonigall? Margays are a sort of small wildcat, if I remember correctly...

Yes, it was McG. and that's exactly what a margay is. Actually the story is a one-shot -- I've just got to go and correct the thing that says it's not complete.
