Nothing better than a sweet little tale with a happy ending.  I loved that she still had the instinct to pet him after he'd taken his human form. I’ll get you something to put on. You can’t sit in a blanket all day.I think she will soon discover that statement is absolutely not true.  I wish them many days of sitting around in only a blanket ;)

Perfect scenario that fits with canon! I can easiy see Bellatrix doing this to spite Severus, and thus leaving no body in the Shack.  Poor guy, ten years looking for someone smart enough to figure out who he is.  I can envision him writing that note with his beak.  Thank you for this ficlet!!
