I am a relative newcomer to the world of Harry Potter Fan Fiction. I recently discovered the good 'ship HG/SS, and I've been hooked to the point where it is my OTP.
I was a Ruth Kirschstein NRSA post-doctoral fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. When I am not at the lab bench or in the classroom, I am an organist. I'd be in a church near me, occupying an organ bench, and blowing dust around the nave. (Just kidding.) Currently, I serve as organist/choirmaster for a couple of small Episcopal churches near Duke University.

This was such a sweet and poignant story! I had tears in my eyes throughout, especially when he visited Lily's grave and when he reminisced about his and Snape's commonalities.

Your pictures didn't come out right, so I'm missing some of the story. But what I read was very sweet and I enjoyed it.

Hmmm. With only two people being able to see the images, I may have to rethink this ... let me see if I can just do html coding to put the text from the images in the story ...Thanks for letting me know.

The story's well written, but your illustrations didn't come through. That rather distracted from the rest of it.

I'm sorry the images didn't come through for you. I checked on two different computers, and the images came out just fine.Just out of curiosity: what do you see when you try to access the images?

I see an empty box with a small 'x' in the upper left hand corner. The only writing in the box is captions (I think). "LilyParchment1". "LilyParchment2" and "Headstone". When I right-click and ask to 'Show Picture', I get nothing. If I refresh the screen, same thing. Am I the only one who's not seeing these?

I've re-written the code so that if you still don't see the picture, you should be able to click on it and see it in a pop-up window (or a new tab altogether, depending on your browser).I'm pretty sure I set permissions on my photobucket account so that anyone can see the contents.Thanks again for your very helpful feedback! :)
Wow, that's amazing. Harry was dropped into such a void when his parents died. I'm glad you gave him a way to learn a little more about his mother and father.

very nice story. too bad the images didn't show up, or the link didn't work. i kinda wonder what they were or said. the end was bitter sweet, saying those things to her headstone. nicely done, lyn.
