How did Crookshanks first come to meet Severus Snape? Mostly gen, ends up as SSHG.

A 30-something Estonian who started lurking around HP fanfic sites in 2006, reading SS/HG almost exclusively.
After a while, I got up the courage to start leaving a few comments, then stumbled into the SS/HG corner of LiveJournal, and have now been bullied encouraged into trying my hand at a bit of writing, too.
I have no illusions about ever becoming a great writer, but it's fun and a good way to practice my English.

Crooks in a very good,judge of character, I'm glad Hermione ended up with Severus, at last.
What a sweet story! I always knew Crooks was a good judge of character (both of the man in black and of the man with the sausage and silly ideas).

Thank you! I only wish that Crooks's obvious skills at judging people had been used more in the books; it might have spared Hermione from being straddled with Ron. ;-)
Such a sweet story. I liked that Severus and Crookshanks had become friends long before Hermione knew anything about it. And I like that she and Severus are together instead of she and Ron.Lovely! Beth

Thank you! And yes, the possibility of Crooks & Severus becoming friends years before was what really appealed to me about the prompt; who knows what Crooks was up to during his years at Hogwarts, after all!

I really enjoyed this original and clever tale! Thanks for sharing it with us. I enjoyed seeing bits of Crookshanks's life. and his interactions with Snape were heartwaming.

Thank you! I do try to avoid Ron-bashing, but it's canon that Ron didn't like Crooks (at least in PoA) and such feelings are generally mutual. So it seemed to fit!
