how sad. I know this is original poetry, but it sort of reminds me of a Snape-type man; one that had been hurt in the past by someone, turning him into a shell, and just when someone is worthy of his feelings again, he is uncertain. I do like this. Lots of emotion with these words. So many different things call out.
