Hermione is studying late at night in the library and finds herself have a very strange conversation with Draco Malfoy. This oneshot is set during one of the later years of their schooling at Hogwarts. Quietly shippy.

Loved it! Very well written; they (to me) were spot on in character. Even with what would be a far fetched notion that Draco would purposely approach and speak to Hermione, I felt you did an excellent job making it believeable while still keeping them the Draco and Hermione that we know.

I really do keep sitting down and looking at it, but it just sends me cross-eyed. Either way, there will be more Draco/Hermione appearing from me in the new year, because two people have requested it from me in my "oh I'm going to be bored without the net over the holidays so set me random pairings to ship" challenge. (Along with a request for Neville/Severus... *looks scared*. But I think that one was meant as a joke...!)
Draco in Gryffindor? Now that's an interesting thought. Maybe supplanting Ron as their third? Several of the books would have had a different type of conflict (between Draco and the rest of his family), and the dreaded Epilogue would be a lot more palatable.

It's a fascinating thought, isn't it? You're completely right of course, it would change the conflict no end... and we won't even get started on the Dreaded Epilogue. *shudders*

Thank you, thank you, and thank you! I've had a lot of requests to continue this story (over at ff.net), but somehow it just doesn't seem to have happened yet. Maybe over Christmas...? Either way, I'm very glad you think that it stands nicely on its own. Sometimes I start to wonder, when people ask for a story to be continued, whether that's a flattering thing (and means they just want more) or whether is shows that I haven't wrapped it into a nice end. So it's rather reassuring to be told both! *hugs*
that would have made for interesting bedfellows wouldn't it-=-- imagine, Harry, Ron, Neville, and DRACO all in the same cozy dorm together-- ooo I got chills.
