Not Yet

I cannot depart, not yet; there is so much left undone.

My home is calling from across a distance –

Why do I feel such resistance?

They say that home is where your heart wants to be.

Maybe my heart has found a new place;

To leave it – that, I could not face.

My family wishes me to go, but I long to stay.

If only I had more time to let it all go –

What I've come to love so...

The day is approaching; it's nearer than I can bear –

The day I must leave this all in my past.

I knew this couldn't last.

I've been searching for home, a place to rest my head.

From a distance it calls, like a song.

Now I know –

It's been here all along.
