I thought this was brilliant! Asking folks to look closely at their own souls is often asking for trouble... I can totally see that in a situation like this. Thanks for a great read

Response from lady_rhian (Author of Mirror Mirror)

And thank you for putting a huge smile on my face. :-)

Heartfelt and profound, your story was like the healing it professed.

Response from lady_rhian (Author of Mirror Mirror)

Thank you! ~blushes~

“We have to hurt before we heal.” Well said, Hermione. And very true, especially given the wizarding world's history of shying away from uncomfortable truths.

Response from lady_rhian (Author of Mirror Mirror)

I'm so very pleased that you enjoyed it.

It wasn’t until after class that he realized she may have needed the comfort more than he did.Love the way this flows. And I love the resolution; people began to listen.Sweetly done

Response from lady_rhian (Author of Mirror Mirror)

Thank you for your kind words.

A good relationship where they can play on each other's strengths to reach the outcome.

Response from lady_rhian (Author of Mirror Mirror)

Indeed! Thank you for reading and reviewing.

Interesting that the more objective accounts were the ones to cause the distress... as it generally is in life. Indicates the differing motives behind writing.  Excellent.

Response from lady_rhian (Author of Mirror Mirror)

They certainly can be. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Brilliant! So clever and contrasting from both point of views - provocative and bittersweet - but: 'But people talked—and began to listen.'!

Response from lady_rhian (Author of Mirror Mirror)

Thank you!

Brutal when we hold the mirror so high that everyone can see themselves - and then quickly look away...

Response from lady_rhian (Author of Mirror Mirror)

Indeed. Thanks for reading!

Hmm...I notice that line "The Granger-Malfoys....Does that mean they were married at that time, or that was the catalyst that brought them together?

Response from lady_rhian (Author of Mirror Mirror)

They got married, yes. Thanks for reading!

How on earth did you fit this much of a story into 499 words? I'm quite impressed. I'm also curious... Hermione's book on the 'Dark' wins her immediate success, while Draco's book on the 'Light' wasn't well received?  I suppose the adage about history being written by the winners is challenged by a book on the 'Good' by a Malfoy? Or they're just not ready for a critical look at "themselves," as they probably read themselves as extensions of Dumbledore and company? Very interesting...

Response from lady_rhian (Author of Mirror Mirror)

I meant to convey that they collaborated; they took turns writing parts of the same book. They published their academic work and amended it as a memoir, as well, so people were upset with them both, you could say --> I'm so sorry if that wasn't clear!

Response from ofankoma (Reviewer)

Ah! Got it!

Interesting take in that the unvarnished truth would tick off a fair number of people, too.

Response from lady_rhian (Author of Mirror Mirror)

I imagine it would!

I really like this one.  The means by which they came together was entirely believeable, and I think by helping one another through the ordeal of post-war healing, they were better able to move on and write their book.  Of course people were angry.  That just goes to show that it was probably accurate.  Nicely done!

Response from lady_rhian (Author of Mirror Mirror)

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

Makes me wonder if Hermione and Draco were healed by their writing more than anyone else? I'm glad Draco decided to ask her out. :)

Response from lady_rhian (Author of Mirror Mirror)

Your comment reminds me of what someone once told me about preaching/teaching - that the person getting the most out of it is the one who prepares the material. I certainly think that could be the case here.

I'm not sure how I missed this one, but it's very good -- excellent premise, very well written.  Thanks for sharing!
