Ooh, that's interesting. Knowing Tom Riddle and Minerva were perhaps very close at one time, and the tempt that Minerva might have deep down inside for a moment or two.Very well done!

Minerva and Tom? That was unexpected, yet strangely alluring. A lot of McGonagall's bearing could be explained by some difficult choices in her own youth. Like resentment of Severus for (in her eyes) being too weak to choose Dumbledore. I'm impressed by the impact of this story.

Thank you! It always struck me as strange that Dumbledore didn't fully trust Minerva. While it could be that he wanted her to have plausible deniability, the possibility that she has A Past is far more interesting... so glad you enjoyed it!
Love the dubious past and chemistry between these two, and the rhythm and dynamics of the atmosphere and dialogue you've presented of these two powerful characters, mystery writer! The final image - creepy/powerful & causing *goosepimples* - thanks!
