absolutely charming.Ironically, I read this earlier today but was not signed on so left no review. Later I was reminded of the tale when, quite by co-incidence, a friend of my daughter's showed us some international currency and the engraving of the Queen did actually have rather a wide mouth. I restrained my laughter; her Majesty would have been proud.-Wahoo

And I should proofread! "Refrained," not "regrained"! LOL! I really should use the "preview" function for these responses, since my eyesight's not what it used to be, and these boxes have a really tiny font size. But we're all lazy about something . . . ;)

That was a hoot! I love Ron and Neville confusing Queen Elizabeth I and Queen Elizabeth II. They should have paid more attention in Muggle Studies class. lolGlad you took the challenge!!!

Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was amusing to try to think of different ways to combine the Queen, Trevor, and a kitchen! LOL! Glad it struck your funny bone. Humor is quite individual . . . this was just a nice, quiet little fic with a bit of silliness in it.Thanks for the review!

Awwwwwwwwwwww! For some reason, I'm only now getting around to reading this! This is SO classic, and Hermione's voice is absolutely perfect! Ron's too!
Isn't it weird to think that the wizarding world could be so removed from Muggle society not to know things such as that?
I also loved how Neville cooed over Trevor and talked about the toad's belly being soft. They are rather dry and not slimy at all, that much is true. I never tried scratching a toad's tummy before though ... I think I might try that.
Going to read this to a wee little boy I know soon.

Thanks!Given all the stuff that wizards didn't seem to know about, especially in the first couple of books, it didn't seem such a stretch to think that Ron wouldn't be acquainted with Muggle money, or that the two boys would be a bit fuzzy about Muggle social and political structures. Toads are nice and soft, and I imagine one might appreciate a gentle stroking of the tum-tum. ;-)Glad you liked it!
