What a poignant piece. I very much like his turnaround from wanting to go, but feeling it would look odd to leaving but wishing he could stay in the end. This is also a very believable situation for Draco being an only child.

I really relate to this little fic because my husband works a lot and there have been many times--Christmas Day--when he was called out and really hated having to leave.  And that makes a lot of sense actually... difficult delivery for her and no more children... I mean, they could have had more kids, but why not? Your reason is great.
